QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

ARE YOU INSURED?

We are fully insured with Public and Products Liability Insurance of £5 million, Employers' Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Our insurance certificates are available to view upon request.

CAN I SEE SOME TESTIMONIALS?

Please see reviews on our Google Business Profile.

We do not advertise so most of our work comes from referrals. If you wish to see examples of our work or speak to a previous customer, please contact us and we will be more than happy to put you in touch with their permission.

I AM A LANDLORD, WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

New Regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested at least every 5 years, and to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested. In the private rented sector all new tenancies from 1st June 2020 and all existing tenancies from 1st April 2021 that do not have en existing certificate or safety report will require an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to be carried out. Any remedial works must be completed within 28 days.

Please see here for the latest government guidance.

CAN YOU CERTIFY MINE OR SOMEONE ELSE’S WORK?

If you have had electrical work installed by a non-qualified individual, or have performed it yourself we cannot certify it. We can inspect and test your electrical installation and provide an Electrical Inspection Condition Report (EICR) which will give you an in depth report of the electrical installation and highlight any problems found. These can then be rectified and a certificate will be issued for our works carried out only. Please see our services and pricing pages for more information.

CAN I SUPPLY MY OWN MATERIALS?

We can install items supplied by the client as long as we consider them fit for purpose. This also includes refitting second hand equipment and accessories. We have the right to refuse installation of any item that does not meet relevant safety standards or we deem unsafe. We will not provide any guarantee or warranty for materials not supplied by us. We always prioritise quality when purchasing materials from our trade wholesalers and guarantee all materials installed by us for a minimum of one year. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATES?

We will issue the necessary Electrical Certificates, along with the Building Control Notification (if applicable) upon receipt of the final invoice. Please allow up to 7 days for us to finalise the paperwork.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO CONDUCT TESTING BEFORE YOU BEGIN WORK?

Before making any alterations or additions to an existing circuit we need to ascertain that it is fault free and safe for continued use. Many faults are hidden so operational lights and sockets are no indication everything is as it should be. If there are any problems we will let you know before we begin our works or any required remedials. Upon completion of the work you will be provided with certification to prove the circuit is safe and conforms to current standards.

WILL YOU REMOVE ALL RUBBISH?

The waste produced from any remedial works in your own property is your responsibility to dispose of.

We hold a Waste Carrier’s Licence from the Environment Agency so sometimes for smaller projects with small amounts of waste we can legally remove and dispose of your waste from your home.

We are passionate advocates of recycling so will recycle everything possible, if it cannot be collected by your local council we will take it to a recycling centre, we have a permit for our local Hampshire's Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).

DO YOU INSTALL SOLAR PV?

I have been involved with the installation of Solar PV in the past with another company, I also have them installed at home. However Frampton Electrical Services is not MCS certified and not able to install them at this time. If this is something you are interested in please get in touch and we are happy to recommend a company to help.

CAN YOU HELP WITH NON ELECTRICAL WORK?

We can when required. Having worked in the construction industry for over 15 years I have a wide range of experience in many areas which aids me with my electrical work. This can save time and money when organising additional trades would normally be required. A simple example would be when installing a replacement electric shower as we can undertake the plumbing connections as part of our works.

DO YOU ACCEPT CASH?

No. Apologies, however, all outgoings are made from the business account so this is where we need the funds. On top of having to visit the bank to deposit it, we are also charged a fee for the privilege. Regrettably if you insist on payment with cash we would have to charge more to cover time and fees.

WHAT DO WE DO IF THERE IS A PROBLEM?
